“Evening” is the third painting out of three in a series called Time.
Oil on canvas, 34”x19” Japanese Vase with a single Rose bathed in the warm evening light, against a golden background.   

The artist is depicting the different lighting, atmosphere, and color as it changes throughout the day, in a way symbolizing the changes in life.  In each painting the same rose and the same vase are depicted under different lightening and different positions. 

The vase is silver in a Japanese style.   The first work in the series is “Morning” with a blue background.   The second work is titled “Day” with a gray background.  The third and final work in the series is called “Evening” with a golden background.
