Rev. Joseph O. Schell,
S.J., philosophy professor and former president of John Carroll here,
and a pioneer proponent of the Spiritual Exercises for the laity. This
magnificent, almost life-size portrait captures the look and spirit of
the man. The painting is temporarily on loan to JCU’s Grasselli
Library, but it will eventually hang in the formal front entrance of
